Model WU-40 is a replacement suction strainer element in the WU range, used at the pump inlet of hydraulic power units.
Construction
Glass fibre, wood-pulp paper or stainless steel mesh is formed on a metal centre tube with metal end caps and a fluororubber or nitrile seal. The coarse 80–180 µm rating protects the pump without creating the pressure drop that would cause cavitation.
Where it is used
Inlet-side strainers on hydraulic power packs, machine tools, mining equipment and lubrication circuits. Because the element sits below oil level, the housing design allows it to be withdrawn without draining the tank.
Selection notes
Quote the model, the pump inlet flow and the mounting thread or flange. Elements are normally supplied in the standard coarse rating; finer ratings are available on request where the pump allows it.
